Windsurfing: Avon Beach Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: F6 Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 20+ Sea Temperature: 17+ Weather: Overcast, rain Max Speed: 22.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 19 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Got down about 11, met Tim in the harbour because he thought he might sail
there. No water, so went to Avon (the Real Plan hehe). Rigged 4.7 because
it seemed right, on 77l. Hammered about on that until it got stupid, so
changed to 4.0, which was much more comfortable (although "windsurfing's
not about comfortable!!" (c) Guy Cribb Corp.)
Conditions were pretty choppy, no real sign of a swell developing, managed
a few dry gybes, but overall a bit survival-ish! Although not as much as it
would have been a while back :-). Tried a few jumps - it's all about
timing, difficult with small sets, aiming to jump the last one but stalling
on the earlier ones. Ah well.
Engaged the use of the GPS, which provided some interesting info - God, I'm
dog slow... must be the kit ;-)
